Dr Yamuna firmly believes that counseling is a process of personal support provided in a safe place without constraints of time, space and confidentialities. Counseling sessions are the only time people speak freely about themselves and their problems. Most importantly, counseling process makes them realize that there is someone who is neutral, thinks about them as an individual and is prepared to listen to them non judgementally. She maintains that positive changes can happen when an individual is given direction, respect and acceptance. She not only works towards helping her clients understand why they are in their present problematic situation, but also works with them to evolve positive attitudes, actions and strategies to overcome their problems. Experience

Dr.Yamuna has been counseling independently since 25 years. She has experience and special interest in the field of parenting and its related issues, adolescent problems, divorce, relationships, family issues, coping with separation, confusion, decision making, coping with new relationships, loss and grief, depression, fear of major life changes, coming to terms with early childhood abuses. Dr.Yamuna gained in-depth understanding and experience in early childhood education, issues in human development and family relations being deeply involved in academic activities and in empirical research studies in the University for thirteen years. She was a Scientist and a teaching faculty member in the Department of Child Development and Family Relationship, Home Science College, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwar and was an Honorary Lecturer for a short while in the Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Home Science, University of Mysore.

M Sc - Child Development, University of Madras, Tamilnadu.
